What is satin silk?
Satin describes the weave, not the fibre. Threads float across the surface to produce a smooth face with a strong directional shine and a duller reverse. In silk that gives weight and a fluid fall, so the skirt moves in continuous folds rather than standing away stiffly.
How does sequin work look on satin?
Different from the same work on net. A satin base already reflects light strongly, so the sequins add depth and break up that reflection rather than supplying all of it. The result is a richer, more layered surface than either the fabric or the work would give alone.
What are the three pieces?
A navy blue satin silk lehenga, a navy blue satin silk blouse recorded as stitched, and a navy blue net dupatta. The package details list one of each. The dupatta uses net rather than satin, which keeps it light and translucent over a skirt that already carries weight.
Does satin crease easily?
Satin shows fold lines more visibly than a textured fabric, because its smooth face reveals any break in the surface. Store it rolled or folded with tissue between the layers rather than pressed flat under weight, and let it hang out before a function so travel lines drop.
