What is tissue fabric?
Tissue is a very finely woven cloth, often carrying metallic yarn, so it shimmers and can be slightly sheer. It has almost no weight of its own. A skirt made from it floats rather than swinging, and it catches light across the whole surface instead of only on the folds.
Is tissue fragile?
It is finer than most lehenga fabrics and needs more care, particularly at the hem where it can catch. It is normally worn over a lining, which supports the fabric as well as giving opacity. Handle it gently when dressing and avoid rough surfaces and open jewellery clasps.
Why thread embroidery rather than zari on tissue?
Tissue already carries shine of its own, so metallic work over it can read as too much of the same thing. Thread embroidery supplies matte colour and texture instead, which gives the pattern definition against a shimmering ground rather than competing with it.
What shade is sea green?
Sea green is a cool green with a blue undertone, lighter and fresher than bottle or emerald green and calmer than a bright mint. It reads clearly in daylight and holds its character under indoor lighting, which makes it usable for both daytime and early evening functions.
