Why does this saree use two different fabrics?
Combining a sheer and a solid cloth gives a drape that changes character across its length. Organza tissue silk lets light through and holds structure, while natural satin silk is opaque and falls smoothly, so the two sections read differently under the same lighting.
Which fabric does the blouse match?
The natural satin silk. The blouse piece is supplied in that fabric rather than the organza tissue silk, because a sheer blouse would need lining anyway and an opaque satin gives coverage while still matching part of the saree. It arrives unstitched at 0.80 metre.
Is a mixed-fabric saree harder to drape?
It needs a little more thought about where the pleats fall, since a crisp organza section and a fluid satin section behave differently under the same fold. Setting the pleats in the section that holds structure usually gives the cleanest result.
How does this compare with the other dual sequence saree in the range?
The fabrics differ. This one combines organza tissue silk with natural satin silk, while the other is organza satin throughout. Both record dual sequence embroidery with multi stone handwork and both supply a natural satin silk blouse piece at 0.80 metre unstitched.
