What is a border design on a saree?
A border layout concentrates the design along the edge of the drape rather than spreading it across the whole length. The body of the saree stays comparatively plain, which makes the border the defining feature and gives the eye a clear line to follow down the fabric.
Why is a border easier to accessorise?
Because it hands you an obvious blouse decision. Matching the blouse to the border shade ties the outfit together immediately without needing to choose between competing colours in an all-over print. That is one practical reason bordered sarees remain popular for occasion wear.
Does mirror work along a border use fewer mirrors?
It does, and that is part of the logic. Concentrating the discs where the eye already travels achieves the same visual effect with less work, which keeps the added weight off a light fabric like chinon. An all-over mirror covering would weigh the drape down.
Does a border stay in a straight line when draped?
On chinon it does. The fabric falls without stiffness, so the border reads as a continuous line down the drape rather than breaking where the cloth turns. A stiffer fabric would make the edge angle away from the body and interrupt that line.
What is included when I order this saree?
You receive the saree drape with its print and mirror cut work already finished, plus an unstitched blouse piece of 0.80 m. The blouse must be tailored to your own measurements before wearing, so allow time for that between placing the order and the event.
