How is rust different from red on a saree?
Rust is a warm, earthy shade with brown behind the red. That makes it easier to wear than a bright red for anyone who wants a warm saree without the wedding-guest signal that pure red carries, and it reads richer in daylight than it usually does on a screen.
What holds the shape of the ruffle sleeve?
The blouse fabric. Organza silk is crisp and sheer, so it holds its own shape at the shoulder rather than collapsing against the arm, which is what allows a ruffle to stand instead of drooping. A fluid blouse fabric would flatten the same ruffle.
Does the colour change across this saree?
Yes, at two levels. The two tone weave shifts between two shades as the drape moves because warp and weft carry different coloured yarns, and the shaded print adds a gradient on top of that. The result is colour that changes both by weave and by print.
How quickly can this be worn?
About a minute. The pleats are formed and secured into the garment, so there is no tucking, hand pleating, pallu measuring or pinning. You step into the drape and set the pallu over the shoulder, and the fall is identical to the last time you wore it.
