What does the cape add to this saree?
It is listed alongside the blouse and belt. Worn over the shoulders a cape changes the silhouette without touching the drape underneath, so the same saree can be shown covered for one part of an evening and open for another. The cape's cut is not described in the owner data.
Why does mirror work need good lighting?
Because a mirror reflects a clear image of the light around it rather than glowing on its own. In a well-lit venue the mirrors read as distinct points of brightness across the drape; in very dim light the same work becomes almost invisible and the saree reads as plain.
Is the blouse fabric different from the saree?
Yes. The saree is two tone satin silk and the blouse is stitched in malai satin, a softer satin with a gentler sheen and a smooth hand. It is made up to 38 inch with margin inside the seams so a tailor can let it out to 42 inch.
How does a pre-pleated saree save time?
A six-metre unstitched saree has to be tucked, hand pleated, set and pinned, which takes ten to twenty minutes and practice to get even. Here the pleats arrive already formed and held in shape, so you step in, set the pallu, and finish in about a minute.
