Is the dupatta the same colour as the lehenga?
No. The lehenga and blouse are navy blue, while the dupatta is pink. That contrast is intentional in this design rather than a stock substitution, and it means the outfit already carries two colours before you add jewellery or footwear to it.
Is velvet too warm for an Indian wedding?
Velvet has a dense pile that traps warmth, so it is far better suited to a winter or late-evening function than a daytime summer one. For a November to February wedding season it is comfortable, and it photographs with a depth that lighter fabrics do not achieve.
What is the blouse fabric?
The blouse is taffeta silk in navy blue, not velvet. Taffeta is crisp and slightly lustrous, so it holds a structured shape and gives a cleaner line at the neckline and sleeves than velvet would while still matching the lehenga tone.
How is sequin handwork different from machine sequin work?
Handwork means each sequin is placed and stitched by hand rather than applied in a repeating machine run. That allows the density to be varied deliberately across the garment and lets the pattern follow the shape of the skirt, rather than repeating on a fixed mechanical interval.
