What makes raw silk different from smooth silk?
The yarn. Raw silk keeps the slubs and irregularities that a polished silk removes, so the surface is textured and matte rather than reflective. It reads substantial and slightly rustic, and it holds colour as a flat, even tone instead of shifting brightness along the folds.
