Does saree length vary between designs?
It does, and by enough to matter. The standard nivi drape worn across most of India needs less cloth than a Maharashtrian nauvari or certain Gujarati styles, which call for a noticeably longer cut. This design does not record its length, so ask us before ordering.
How do I know what length I need?
It depends on your height, how deep you like the pleats and how long you want the pallu. A taller wearer or anyone who prefers a generous fall needs the longer cut. Since this design records no length at all, please ask us to confirm before you order.
Does georgette pleat easily by hand?
It is one of the more forgiving fabrics for it. The hard-twisted yarn gives the cloth a slight grain that grips itself, so pleats stay together under a pin rather than sliding apart, and the light weight means they do not drag down out of shape as you move.
Why does a print look different on georgette?
The fine grain of the weave scatters light slightly, and the fabric is constantly moving as you walk. Between them, a printed pattern reads as texture in motion rather than as a flat design, which softens a busy multicolour print considerably.
