Is poly silk actually silk?
No. Poly silk is a polyester fabric woven and finished to imitate the sheen and drape of silk. It contains no silk. The name describes the intended appearance rather than the fibre, and we would rather state that plainly than let the word silk imply something it should not.
What are the advantages of poly silk?
It takes dye brilliantly and holds colour through repeated cleaning, resists creasing better than natural silk, and does not water-spot the way real silk does. It is also far less expensive. For a saree worn through a long function, those are genuine practical advantages.
Why does heavy embroidery need a firm base fabric?
Dense needlework pulls on the ground cloth wherever it is stitched. A soft or loosely woven base distorts around the work, puckering between motifs. A firmer fabric such as poly silk carries that load without deforming, which is why it is commonly chosen for heavily worked sarees.
Which specification rows are absent for this saree?
The saree length, the fabric width, whether a blouse piece is included, the package contents and the wash care instruction are all absent from the product record. Rather than invent them we have left them out, so please ask us if any of those points is decisive.
