What is resham thread work?
Resham is untwisted silk thread used for embroidery. Worked flat against the fabric, it produces a low, soft sheen rather than the hard glint of metal thread, so motifs read as raised colour. It is often paired with zari, as it is here, to set matt and metallic surfaces against each other.
What does gota fabric piping add to the saree?
Gota is a narrow woven metallic ribbon, and piping means it is applied along an edge as a finishing strip. It gives the border a clean, defined line and stops a sheer fabric like organza from looking raw at the edge, while adding a second metallic note beside the zari.
Does organza crease easily?
Organza is crisp and holds structure, and the same stiffness means it creases more readily than a soft weave such as georgette. Folded creases can be persistent, so it is generally hung rather than folded tightly for long periods, and pressed by the dry cleaner rather than at home.
Is this saree suitable for a wedding reception?
It works for one. The description on this piece marks it as party wear, and the resham thread work, zari border and gota piping give it enough surface interest for an evening reception, a sangeet or an engagement. Peach is a softer choice than red or maroon for that setting.
What is included in the package?
One saree and one blouse piece. The saree is 5.5 metre long and 44 inches wide, and the blouse piece is embroidered and cut to 0.80 metre. No petticoat, stole or fall is supplied, so allow for those separately when you plan the tailoring.
