What is raw satin?
Raw satin has a slightly textured, less polished surface than a standard satin silk, so it reflects light more softly. Used as the blouse fabric here, it gives the bodice a different finish from the saree even though both pieces are recorded in the same green.
How many surface effects are on this saree?
Four are recorded: pearl, stone, sequin and applique. Pearl supplies rounded matte lustre, stone supplies hard sparkle, sequin supplies flat reflective discs, and applique adds cut fabric shapes with real thickness. Together they give the drape varied texture as well as varied shine.
Does organza keep its shape after wearing?
Organza holds structure by nature, which is why it keeps defined pleat edges rather than collapsing against the body. Blended with satin as it is here, it stays a little softer than unblended organza while retaining most of that shape. Careful folding helps preserve it between wears.
Which jewellery works with a green zari saree?
Gold echoes the zari thread most directly and is the traditional partner for green in Indian dress. Kundan and temple pieces both sit comfortably. Silver works too but reads cooler and does not pick up the metallic tone already present in the fabric.
Is the blouse fabric the same as the saree fabric?
No. The saree is Zari Organza Satin and the blouse piece is Raw Satin, both recorded in green. That is a deliberate pairing, because a blouse needs more opacity and body than a partly sheer organza-based saree fabric can supply at the bodice.
