What is aari work?
Aari is embroidery worked with a hooked needle, the aari, drawn through fabric stretched on a frame. It produces a fine continuous chain stitch. Because the hook works quickly and with even tension, aari is the standard method for attaching beads and sequins across large areas.
What does highlighted sequins mean?
It means the sequin work picks out specific areas of the design rather than covering the whole surface. The reflection is placed deliberately along the pattern instead of being scattered across the drape, which gives the embroidery more definition than an all-over sequin treatment.
Is this a lehenga or a saree?
It is a saree. A lehenga style saree is a single draped garment cut so the lower fall reads like a lehenga skirt once it is worn. There is no separate skirt and no dupatta, and the only accompanying piece recorded is a stitched blouse.
What jewellery works with silver?
Silver is a metallic neutral, so it carries either gold or white-metal jewellery without clashing, which is unusual. Diamond-look and polki sets read cleanly against it, and coloured stones stand out sharply where they would compete with a saturated base colour.
