What is moti work?
Moti is the Hindi word for pearl, so moti work sets pearls or beads onto the fabric. Unlike sequins, which swing on a single stitch and flash, pearls sit still and hold a steady rounded highlight, which is why the two are often combined on the same saree.
What is glace tissue?
Tissue is a very fine, light woven fabric that carries a natural shimmer through the cloth itself. The glace finish adds a glazed surface on top, so the fabric reflects light rather than absorbing it. It is crisper in the hand than satin and holds slight structure in the pleats.
The blouse is unstitched but has a size. What does that mean?
The specification records the blouse as unstitched with a size of up to 38 inches and a margin of 42 inches. In practice that describes how much fabric is supplied and what body size it can be cut for, so a tailor has room up to 42 inches.
Is tissue fabric delicate?
Tissue is woven fine and thin, so it is less forgiving than a heavier weave and can mark or pull if handled roughly. Dry clean only is the care instruction recorded here, and that applies to the sequin and pearl work as much as to the fabric itself.
Does the shimmer come from the fabric or the work?
Both, and they behave differently. The glace tissue shimmers steadily across the whole drape because the finish is part of the cloth, while the sequins flash in bursts as they move and the pearls hold fixed points of light. Together they give three separate kinds of reflection.
