What fabric is this sage green saree made of?
The saree is made in zari organza satin. Organza gives it a crisp, sheer body that holds its shape, the satin finish adds a smooth low sheen, and the zari is metallic thread woven into the ground so the shimmer is part of the weave rather than a surface print.
Is the blouse stitched or unstitched?
The blouse comes unstitched. You get a 0.80 m blouse piece in satin silk along with the saree, which your tailor can cut to your own measurements and preferred neckline. Nothing is pre-stitched, so the fit and sleeve length are entirely your choice.
What kind of embellishment is on this saree?
Three things are used together. Dual sequins means two sizes of sequin are stitched across the surface, small mirrors are set in place and held by a ring of stitching around each disc, and pearl beads are placed at intervals so the shine is broken up rather than continuous.
Will the pleats hold their shape through a long function?
Organza is a structured fabric, so it tends to keep a pleat rather than collapse. The satin finish adds a little weight to that structure. In practice the drape sits away from the body and the pleats stay defined for longer than they would in a soft, fluid fabric.
How should this saree be washed?
The first wash of the garment should always be dry-cleaning. Embellished organza carries mirrors, sequins and pearl beads that are stitched to the surface, so dry-cleaning protects both the fabric and the work. No other care instruction is specified for this saree.
