What is moti work and how does it differ from sequin work?
Moti is the word for pearl or bead, and moti work means beads stitched individually onto the fabric. Beads are rounded and hold a matte or pearly finish, while sequins are flat discs that reflect light sharply. Using both gives the surface contrast in both texture and shine.
Is yellow a good colour for a daytime function?
It is one of the strongest daytime shades. Yellow has long associations with haldi ceremonies and with Basant celebrations, and it holds its brightness in sunlight where deeper colours can look heavy. The shaded print keeps it from reading as one flat block of colour.
What work is recorded on this saree?
Embroidery, sequence, moti and handwork. Embroidery works motifs in thread, sequence covers the sequin detail, moti adds stitched beads, and handwork means the elements are applied by hand. The moti component is what separates this piece from others in the same print family.
Will the yellow look as bright as the photographs?
Probably slightly softer. Studio lighting and camera flash both push yellow towards a higher intensity than it holds under normal room light or daylight. Combined with screen settings, that means the saree in hand tends to read a little more muted than the listing images.
Is the blouse piece the same yellow as the saree?
The blouse fabric is recorded as Satin Silk and its length as 0.80 Mtr, but no blouse colour is recorded against this SKU. Check the piece when it arrives before deciding whether to use it as supplied or have a contrast blouse made instead.
