What is patola and is this a real patola?
Patola is a double-ikat weaving tradition from Gujarat, where the yarn is resist-dyed before weaving so the motif appears on both faces. This dupatta carries that motif language as a print on fancy fabric, not as a woven double ikat, which is what keeps it light and affordable.
What are the three pieces in this suit?
A top in tussar silk, a pant style bottom in tussar silk, and a dupatta in fancy fabric carrying a patola print. All three are supplied readymade, so the top and bottom arrive stitched and nothing has to go to a tailor before the suit can be worn.
Why does tussar silk suit a trouser cut?
Because it has body. Tussar is a wild silk with a slubbed, dry surface and a matte sheen, and the cloth holds a shape rather than following the contour of the leg. That is what keeps the straight vertical line a pant style cut depends on.
Is the colour of this suit recorded?
No. The owner data lists the fabrics, the dupatta print and the readymade stitching, but no colour value for this SKU. If colour is important for your occasion, please ask us and we will check the physical stock before you place the order.
