What makes tussar silk different from other silks?
The slub. Tussar yarn is spun with uneven thick and thin sections, so the woven cloth has a dry, grainy surface you can feel with a fingertip and a matte sheen rather than a glossy one. That texture is why it reads as rich under indoor light without looking shiny.
How many pieces are in this suit?
Three: a tussar silk top, a tussar silk pant style bottom, and a dupatta in a fancy fabric carrying a patola print with lucknowi work. All are supplied readymade, so the top and bottom arrive stitched and no tailoring stage is needed before wearing.
What is lucknowi work on the dupatta?
It is the fine thread embroidery tradition of Lucknow, known more widely as chikankari. It is stitched tonally, so the pattern shows as texture and shadow rather than as a contrasting colour, and it sits over the printed patola motif without competing against it for attention.
Can this be worn to an evening function?
Yes. The owner lists it for party wear as well as daily wear. Drape the dupatta properly across the shoulder rather than folding it lengthwise, and the same suit moves from a daytime event into an evening function without needing anything else added to it.
