Why does satin silk look shinier than other silks?
It is the weave, not a coating. Satin construction floats long threads across the surface so light bounces off an almost unbroken plane rather than scattering across a textured grain. That is what produces the sheen, and it is why the reverse face stays matte.
What does multi thread embroidery highlighted mean?
Multi thread means the embroidery uses several thread colours in one design, giving the motifs shading and depth. Highlighted means additional elements, here sequins and pearls, are placed over that thread work at chosen points to pick out edges and centres and catch the light.
Is the blouse piece stitched?
No, it is unstitched. You receive a 0.80 mtr milky satin blouse piece to take to a tailor for stitching to your own measurements. Allow a few days before the function, and discuss sleeve length early since 0.80 mtr is a standard blouse cut.
Is this saree heavy to wear?
Satin silk carries genuine weight compared with georgette or chiffon, and the thread, sequin and pearl work adds to that across the worked areas. It drapes beautifully because of the weight, but expect a substantial saree rather than a light one you barely notice.
Does the pearl and sequin work sit on the surface?
It does. Pearls and sequins are stitched onto the finished ground rather than woven into it, so they stand above the satin surface and catch light independently of the fabric's own sheen. The worked areas therefore carry more thickness than the plain satin around them.
