What is a half-and-half saree?
A half-and-half saree is built in two colours or two fabrics, with one running through part of the body and the other taking over for the remainder and usually the pallu. The changeover is intended to be visible and is the main design feature of the saree.
Is poly silk the same as silk?
No. Poly silk is a polyester fabric woven to give a surface that behaves like silk. It is lighter on the pocket, holds colour strongly and creases less than natural silk, but it is a man-made fibre and should not be described or cared for as silk.
Does the blouse piece match the saree work?
Yes. The blouse piece is embroidered rather than plain, and it comes in pink raw silk to pick up the pink half of the saree. It arrives unstitched at 0.80 metres, so a tailor cuts it to your measurements with the embroidery placement in mind.
What does full embroidered mean here?
It means the embroidery covers the body of the saree rather than being confined to the border and pallu. You get worked surface across the drape, which is why this piece reads richer than a saree where the plain ground is only framed by a decorated edge.
How does poly silk handle a long function?
Well. It is light, it resists creasing, and it does not lose colour depth under strong lighting the way some natural fabrics can. It also holds a pleat once pinned, so the drape stays tidy through several hours without needing to be reset.
